Goldman Sachs has issued employee trading ban on event-based contract relating to financial markets, companies & elections on prediction markets platform (Eg. Kalshi & Polymarket), but are allowed to trade on sports & entertainment.   In 2026 June, United States derivatives & securities exchange network Cboe Global Markets ($27 billion market value) launched prediction markets products with Cboe Predicts.  The new products include Mini-S&P 500 Index (XSP)-linked binary options contracts available now on Interactive Brokers & expects to launch on Charles Schwab in 2026 2nd half.  In 2026 June, United States market prediction trading platform Kalshi added India to restricted jurisdictions & countries list, which include China.  In 2026 May, United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed charges against ex-Google software engineer (Michele Spagnuolo, Switzerland Citizen) for insider trading using non-public information at Google to trade on prediction market platform polymarket.com on results of Google top searches for people in 2025 & placed trades with near-perfect accuracy to generate $1.2 million profits.  In 2026 May, United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Army Special Forces Soldier Master Sgt. Gannon Ken Van Dyke was charged for using classified information to place bets on prediction market platform (Polymarket) relating to United States military mission to capture Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, and earned $404,000.  In 2026 May, United States Senate passed the new rule to ban senators from trading on prediction market with immediate effect.  In 2026 May, a United States government committee launched an investigation on prediction market platforms users from Polymarket & Kalshi in using non-public information to conduct insider trading.  In 2026 April, United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued a reminder of insider trading law is applicable on prediction markets.   In 2026 February, the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) submitted a legal brief to United States court to reaffirm exclusive jurisdiction over United States commodity derivatives market including event contract markets (Prediction markets).  Event contracts allow investors to hedge event-driven risks.  In 2026 March, New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) parent Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) invested $600 million in prediction market company Polymarket, and will buy additional (Up to) $40 million from existing shareholders.  In 2026 February, Singapore-based crypto exchange Crypto.com with more than 100 million users launched the new prediction market platform OG in United States, providing sports fans access to CFTC-regulated sports event contracts & event contracts in financial, political, cultural & entertainment events.
