Prudential asset manager Eastspring Investments ($269 billion AUM) has launched a new actively managed Asia ex-Japan technology innovation fund (Eastspring Investments – Asia Technology Innovation Fund) to invest in technology & technology-related companies (Include information technology, industrials, consumer discretionary, communication services & healthcare). The new fund is initially available in Singapore & Hong Kong. Announcement (16/7/26): “Eastspring Investments (“Eastspring”), the USD269 billion Asia-headquartered asset management business of Prudential plc, today announced the launch of the Eastspring Investments – Asia Technology Innovation Fund (“the Fund”) in Singapore and Hong Kong. The Fund will also be progressively available to other select markets in the region.The Fund is driven by a high conviction, actively managed strategy focused on one of the most powerful investment themes today: the rise of Asian innovators powering the next wave of technology and AI. The Fund spans both established leaders and emerging innovators, many of which are often underrepresented in global benchmarks. This provides exposure to Asian companies powering the familiar, global technology names you know. The Fund is led by Lead Portfolio Manager and Head of Asia Tech Team, Eric Lin, CFA and Co Portfolio Managers Louis Cheng, CFA and Jack Hsu, and Head of Growth Equities, John Tsai.” Fund Objective – The Fund aims to maximize long-term total returns by investing primarily (at least 66% of its net assets) in equity and equity-related securities of technology or technology-related companies (including companies from the information technology, industrials, consumer discretionary, communication services and healthcare sectors) which are incorporated in or have their area of primary activity in the Asia ex-Japan Region. The Fund may invest up to 50% of its net assets in China A-shares (i.e. RMB-denominated onshore equity securities) directly via the Stock Connect program (i.e. Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and/or Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect) and/or through QFII/RQFII arrangements.
