UK investment manager Baillie Gifford ($266 billion AUM) has hired Fullerton Fund Management Head of Client Solution Institutional Calvin Liew as Client Relationship Director Singapore (1/7/26). Calvin Liew has 20 years of asset management & financial industry experience at PIMCO, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Cambridge Associates, Colchester Global Investors & Fullerton Fund Management. Announcement (23/7/26): ” Baillie Gifford, the independent global investment manager, has appointed Calvin Liew as its Client Relationship Director, Singapore, effective 1 July 2026. Liew will lead the firm’s client relationships and business development efforts in Southeast Asia as Baillie Gifford deepens its long-term commitment to the region and expands access to its active, high-conviction growth strategies. Baillie Gifford has worked with clients across Asia for over 30 years. Founded more than a century ago, today the firm manages around US$8 billion (SGD10 billion) for clients in Asia (ex-Japan). It serves a broad range of institutional and intermediary clients across Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. With Singapore playing an increasingly important role as a regional wealth hub and gateway to Southeast Asia, Liew will lead Baillie Gifford’s efforts to broaden relationships across the region. Liew brings over 20 years of experience across asset allocation, product strategy, institutional business development and investment consulting in Asia Pacific. He joins Baillie Gifford from Fullerton Fund Management, where he was Managing Director and Head of Institutional Client Solutions, leading relationships with central banks, insurers and endowments across equities, fixed income and private equity mandates. Earlier in his career he held roles at Colchester Global Investors, Cambridge Associates, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and PIMCO. Baillie Gifford has long invested in Asia’s growth story, as early backers of some of the most innovative public and private companies in the region. Its investments include TSMC, Tencent, Samsung Electronics, Sea Limited, Meituan and Luckin Coffee, as well as innovative private companies, such as Singapore-based insurtech provider Bolttech, AI technology company, Horizon Robotics and Hong Kong fintech Micro Connect.”
