Monetary Authority of Singapore Announces Board Appointments: Tharman Shanmugaratnam Remains Chairman, Lawrence Wong Remains Deputy Chairman

Singapore central bank Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has announced new board appointments, with the re-appointment of Mr Lim Hng Kiang (Special Advisor of Ministry of Trade and Industry) to the MAS Board of Director for a 3-year term (1 June 2022 to 31 May 2025), the appointment of Mr Chaly Mah as Chair of its Audit Committee, and Mr Quek See Tiat (President of the Council for Estate Agencies and Chairman of the Singapore Accounting Standards Council) to step down from the MAS Board after serving for 9 years when his term ends on 31 May 2022. Mr Chaly Mah (member of the MAS Board and Chairman, NetLink NBN Management Pte Ltd) will succeed Mr Quek See Tiat as Chair of the Audit Committee. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Chairman of the MAS Board: “We deeply appreciate Mr Quek’s contributions to the MAS Board over the past nine years. As Chair of MAS Audit Committee, Mr Quek has also provided valuable guidance on MAS’ internal controls and financial reporting processes.” The Chairman of MAS is Tharman Shanmugaratnam (Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies) and Deputy Chairman is Lawrence Wong (Minister for Finance), with a total of 12 directors on MAS Board.
