A UK London court has rejected ex-Barings Co-Head of the Global Private Finance Group Adam Wheeler application to block the $8.5 million (£6.3 million) mass resignation & hiring lawsuit filed by Barings against Adam Wheeler, who had joined the new Japan Nomura-backed private credit investment manager Corinthia Global Management as Co-CEO and alleged in lawsuit to hire 22 employees (By Corinthia Global Management) who all resigned in 2024 March the day after Barings paid their bonuses in full. Barings had also filed a lawsuit against Corinthia Global Management separately. Corinthia Global Management – Corinthia Global Management Limited has been established to originate and manage private credit investment opportunities for its investment partners worldwide. Adam Wheeler – Adam Wheeler is the Co-CEO of Corinthia Global Management and is responsible for overseeing the investment team and strategy. Adam is a member of the North American and European Investment committees. Prior to joining Corinthia, Adam served as Co-Head of the Global Private Finance Group at Barings where he was responsible for managing a team of 90+ private credit investment professionals. In his prior role, Adam was also a member of the North American, European and Asia Pacific investment committees. Adam has worked in the industry since 1994 and his experience has encompassed mezzanine investing, private debt investing, originating, structuring and underwriting leveraged loans. Prior to joining the firm in 2009, he worked at AMP Capital Investors as the head of the Australian and New Zealand Private Debt business where he was responsible for managing a team that originated, arranged and invested in mezzanine and senior private debt tranches. He was also a member of the AMP Capital Private Debt Investment Committee. Before AMP, Adam held origination, underwriting and advisory positions at Rabobank Corporate Finance, N.M. Rothschild & Sons and PwC. Adam holds a B.Com. and L.L.B. from the University of New South Wales, a G.D.M. from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
