5th May 2026 | Hong Kong

Finland Nordea Asset Management ($380 billion AUM) has been appointed as sub-investment manager of 2 sustainable funds for New Zealand-based ethical investment manager Pathfinder Asset Management.  The 2 funds are Pathfinder Responsible Investment Fund & Pathfinder Global Water Fund.  Announcement (22/4/26): “ Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is pleased to announce its first two mandates in New Zealand with Pathfinder Asset Management (Pathfinder), a leading ethical investment manager dedicated to driving lasting positive change through responsible investing. The appointment follows a rigorous process by Pathfinder, where over 70 managers were evaluated for ethical alignment, quantitative capability, and sustainability leadership. NAM emerged as the clear leader, offering a customised approach that allows Pathfinder to deliver world-class global equity capability to its clients without compromising its ethical framework. Under the mandates, NAM will act as sub-investment manager for Pathfinder’s Responsible Investment Fund and Global Water Fund. The portfolios will be managed by NAM’s Diversified Equity Team, which has worked together for over 15 years and currently manages over €80 billion in AUM in BetaPlus strategies. This partnership combines NAM’s expertise in sustainable and systematic investing with Pathfinder’s focus on ethical investing and long-term performance. The portfolios will be managed using NAM’s BetaPlus framework, which goes beyond market exposure by combining quantitative portfolio construction with disciplined risk management and integrated sustainability. These solutions are designed to generate consistent excess alpha through repeatable active strategies, delivered in a cost-efficient manner. The BetaPlus range comprises both traditional and sustainable building blocks, giving investors flexible and customizable solutions aligned with long-term investment objectives.”  In 2025 December, Nordea Asset Management new sustainable actively managed ETF (BetaPlus Enhanced Global Sustainable Equity UCITS ETF) has become the largest sustainable actively managed ETF in Europe with $2.2 billion (€1.9 billion) AUM, and with BetaPlus ETFs crossing $3.5 billion (€3 billion) AUM for 3 ETFs (Global Sustainable Equity, Global Developed Sustainable Equity & European Select Equity). In 2025 October, Nordea Asset Management Emerging ex China Sustainable Stars Equity Fund launched in 2022 September has crossed the 3-year mark with $272 million AUM, investing in emerging markets outside of China to allow investors to manage China allocation separately.
