The world’s largest private equity firm Blackstone ($1.3 trillion AUM) has raised $13.1 billion for the 3rd Asia private equity fund (Blackstone Capital Partners Asia III). In 2022, Blackstone 2nd Asia buyout fund (Blackstone Capital Partners Asia II) raised $11 billion, with $6.4 billion from investors & $4.6 billion from Blackstone funds. Announcement (2/6/26): “Blackstone (NYSE: BX) today announced the final close of Blackstone Capital Partners Asia III (“BCP Asia III”) at $13.1 billion, exceeding its $10 billion target and marking the firm’s largest private equity fundraise in the region. The oversubscribed fund reached its hard cap and builds on the strong performance of the strategy’s first two vintages, with this close representing more than double the amount of capital raised for its predecessor vehicle. Blackstone has been one of the most active global investors in the region over the last 24 months, reinforcing its leadership in India and Japan. The firm invested over $7 billion of capital across 12 transactions, which include: 1) Neysa, a fast-growing Indian AI cloud platform 2) TechnoPro, Japan’s leading specialized engineering services provider 3) JUNO, South Korea’s top hair salon franchise … … In addition, the firm has had 15 exits with realizations over the same period, including: 1) Listing of International Gemological Institute, the largest lab grown diamonds certification player 2) Listing of Aadhar Housing Finance, India’s largest affordable housing finance business 3) Exit from Alinamin Pharmaceutical after helping build the business into one of Japan’s leading consumer healthcare businesses.”
