Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management has confirmed a £11 billion merger which could create one of the United Kingdom’s largest fund managers overseeing assets of £660billion.

Under the terms of the potential deal, Aberdeen shareholders would own 33.3% and Standard Life shareholders would then own 66.7% of the combined group.
