Alibaba co-founder Joe Tsai family office Blue Pool Capital former Private Equity Head & Partner Danny Lee has launched a new private equity firm VCA Capital in 2022, and is currently raising $200 million to invest in companies with strong cashflow and pre-tax earnings of at least $10 million. Danny Lee has around 30 years of investment experience including at Blue Pool Capital (7 years), Bain Capital Asia (9 years), and Investor AB (Around 7 years at one of the largest industrial holding companies controlled by the Wallenberg family in Sweden). Joe Tsai is the co-founder of Alibaba, is a billionaire with an estimated net worth of around $9 billion and owns NBA basketball team Brooklyn Nets.

Danny Lee, Founder of VCA Capital
Danny Lee was Partner of Blue Pool Capital, where he heads up private equity globally. Before Blue Pool, Mr. Lee was a Managing Director at Bain Capital, where he focused on growth capital and buyout transactions in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to Bain Capital, he was a Vice President with Investor AB, one of the largest industrial holding companies controlled by the Wallenberg family in Sweden. He started his career in New York and Hong Kong with Lehman Brothers. Mr. Lee is a member of the Hong Kong Chi Tung Association, an organization of senior finance leaders in Hong Kong. He is an independent director of the Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club College. He is also a Chartered Financial Analysts, an Aspen Finance Fellow and an Edmund Hillary Fellow. Mr. Lee holds a B.A. in economics from Columbia College and serves as a senior advisor to alumni club.
