UAE largest banking group Emirates NBD has made senior management changes with 1) Tariq Chaudhary appointed as Group Head of Retail Banking & Wealth Management (RBWM) International, 2) Raed Al Jaser as Head of Wealth Management & 3) Mohammad Al Bastaki as Group Head of Private Banking & Wealth Management.  In 2025 December, Emirates NBD & Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) formed a strategic partnership for family businesses & UHNWIs in DIFC Family Wealth Centre, which has 1,250+ family-related entities with the top 120 families managing $1.2 trillion assets globally.  In 2025 October, Emirates NBD hired ex-UBS & Pictet Private Banker Jacky Ho as Senior Director to lead Greater China coverage, relocating from Hong Kong to Dubai.  Jacky Ho has 12 years of private banking experience including at Pictet, UBS, Credit Suisse, Hang Seng Bank & Wing Lung Bank.  In 2025 June, Emirates NBD appointed Rajiv Nair as Team Head of Global Asian Client Coverage for Private Banking.  Rajiv Nair has been with Emirates NBD for nearly 13 years (2008 to 2018, 2022 to current) in Private Banking, Wealth Management & Corporate Banking.  In 2024 April, Emirates NBD hired Citi 25-year veteran Sameer Deshpande as Head of Wealth Management to grow Emirates NBD business in Singapore & Asia (2024 April).  At Citi, Sameer Deshpande had held senior leadership roles including as Global Head of Investments eSales, Region Head of Investments, Head of Institutional Funds.  Sameer Deshpande started his career at Citi as a Management Associate in India (1995 to 2000), relocated to Australia in 2000, and rejoined Citi in 2004 as Director of Operations for Wealth Management in Singapore.

5th December – UAE largest banking group Emirates NBD & Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) have formed a strategic partnership for family businesses & UHNWIs in DIFC Family Wealth Centre, which has 1,250+ family-related entities with the top 120 families managing $1.2 trillion assets globally.  Announcement (3/12/25): “Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the leading global financial centre in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, has announced a strategic partnership with Emirates NBD, a leading banking group in the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye (MENAT) region, to empower family businesses and UHNWIs within the DIFC Family Wealth Centre.  Under the terms of the strategic agreement, Emirates NBD Private Banking will collaborate with DIFC Family Wealth Centre (DFWC) to address the evolving needs of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) and their family businesses by providing tailored frameworks, robust governance models, tax structuring, and succession planning to ensure long-term sustainability and legacy preservation.  Recognising the critical need for specialised support, Emirates NBD will leverage the world-class infrastructure of DIFC to provide bespoke educational programmes, workshops, and other resources focusing on key topics including best practices in family governance, succession planning, and family office structures.  The strategic agreement aligns mutual objectives and underscores a shared commitment to foster a robust ecosystem for family enterprises.
