Sweden measurement technology group Hexagon ($30.3 billion market value) has announced to buy United States energy technology company Baker Hughes ($59 billion market value) Germany industrial testing unit (Waygate Technologies) for $1.45 billion in all-cash deal. Waygate Technologies was founded in 2004 as GE Inspection Technologies by General Electric (GE), and rebranded to Waygate Technologies in 2019 after Baker Hughes separated from General Electric (GE).
