Columbia-Spain pop star Shakira (Age 49) with $350 million fortune has been acquitted by Spain high court for tax fraud, and will receive $64 million (€55 million) tax refund. Spain high court rules Spain tax authorities had failed to prove Shakira spent at least 183 days in Spain in 2011 (Spent 163 days). The $64 million (€55 million) tax refund include income tax paid (€24 million), fines (€25 million) & interests. In 2023 November, Shakira agreed to pay $8.2 million to settle Spain prosecutors tax evasion charges, paying 50% of tax owed & avoided a 3-year jail sentence. In 2023 September, Spain prosecutors had charged pop star Shakira for the 2nd time for tax evasion of $7.1 million for 2018 income tax by using offshore company in tax haven, 1st case for $15.4 million tax evasion of income tax for 2012 to 2014. Between 2012 to 2014, Shakira had spent more than half her time in Spain, despite her official residence in the Bahamas. The 2nd notice was sent to Shakira residence in Miami (United States).
